Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On the front panel of my 8012 when I select scan, it tells me to install the HP software and select Print Scan & Fax.

Having gone to the link and reinstalled HP Smart, there is no option that I can find for Print Scan & Fax.

I simply want to scan directly from my printer to my PC.  I can scan using the software.. but want to scan direct from printer.

Using Windows 11 (PC NOT MAC).

Can somebody advise please?

@riteoh123, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I understand you are trying to scan to computer from the printer screen.

 

It is not asking for the HP Smart app. A full-feature printer driver is required to be installed on the computer.

 

Click here to download the driver.

Once installed, open the utility, go to scan > Manage scan to computer > enable
