Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an 8600e AIO and its printhead has failed.  I've tried cleaning the printhead with no success and a replacement printhead would be almost $200.

I'm OK with not being able to use my 8600e to print, as I have a laser printer I've always used for B&W documents anyway and I have a slow (older) color inkjet that can work for the very few times I need to print in color.

But what I don't have is a replacement for the 8600e's scanner & ADF, both of which worked great before the printhead failed.

Does anyone know of ANY method by which I can bypass the 8600e's "Printhead Error" message and cause it to function again as just a multipage scanner?

It seems really silly -- and very wasteful -- to have to throw out this whole unit just because it's lost one of its several capabilities.

Thanks.
