Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

20250719_181806[1].jpgEverytime i do a scan or copy from the ADF or flatbed scanner it comes out with vertical lines covering the right half of the paper from top to bottom. I tried a black scan/copy and its the samething just without an color in the lines. Can't get any help from HP since its out of warranty. What I'm hoping someone can tell me what parts i need to replace so i can fix it myself.

Google search for G5J56-40044 that would be the most likely part to causing you problems.

Thank you so much for your reply!  Just to clarify...that's the scanner head not the ribbon cables that are also showing up in the google search  for G5J56-40044?

The scanner head is most likely to be defective, 2nd step is flat cable replacement. If you can get them both cheap get both.

Replacing the cable is way tricky

Thanks again for your help. Having a lot of trouble finding the ... I believe is the A4 scanner head, lots of A3 scanner heads available, but I'll keep looking. Thanks again!
