I see your points and logs, and all I can say is that I am running the same firmware except I am a PLus not a premium which only adds a second larger tray basically. My incompatibility started when Win10 turned off SMB v1 with an update. I had been running as:

""Product Name HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g Product Model Number CM750A Product Serial Number CN23FBK0NK05KD Service ID 22324 Firmware Version CLP1CN1545AR Total Page Count 4810 Country/Region USA""

 

 since the firmware came out!! I turned SMB v1 back on in WIn10 with the security patch and all is good, WITH authentication. Mine will not work without authentication and I do not want it too!! I'm gonna try to setup a Mac share to see if mine will work. My NAS bit the dust years ago and I have not replaced it so that's out. I might be able to setup a Linux share off my kali laptop. Will update if I see anything different!!  Hope you find a solution or HP makes you whole in the future!!
