I noticed that my scanner scans specific colors wrong. There's no where in the app OR the printer screen to calibrate settings nor does it appear in the MacOS ColorSync devices.
Please advise,

Hi @pqlior,

I understand your OfficeJet Pro 9025 is scanning colors incorrectly, and you can’t find an option to calibrate either in MacOS or the HP app. Let’s go through some steps to fix the scan quality issue.
1. Power Reset the Printer
Keep the printer on.
Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
Wait 60 seconds.
Plug it directly back into the wall outlet and power it on.
Sometimes a reset clears temporary scan/color issues.
2. Clean the Scanner Glass & ADF
Lift the scanner lid and clean the glass surface and white backing strip with a lint-free cloth and glass cleaner.
If using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), clean the ADF rollers and strip glass as well.
Smudges or dust often cause incorrect color patches.
3. Update Printer Firmware
On the printer control panel, go to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Update the Printer.
Or download the latest firmware from HP Software & Drivers.
Firmware updates sometimes resolve scanner calibration bugs.
4. Reinstall HP Smart on MacOS
Remove the printer from System Settings → Printers & Scanners.
Uninstall HP Smart.
Download the latest HP Easy Start and HP Smart from HP’s site.
Re-add the printer and test scanning again.
5. Try Different Scan Applications
Instead of HP Smart, test with Preview (Mac default app) → File → Import from Scanner.
Also test using Image Capture (Mac utility).
If the scans look correct here, the issue may be with HP Smart’s software handling.
6. Check Scan SettingsIn HP Smart → Scan → click Advanced Settings.
Ensure Color Mode is set to Color (not Grayscale or Black & White).
Try lowering the DPI (e.g., 300 DPI) and see if results improve.
7. If Still No Calibration Option
The OfficeJet Pro 9025 does not have a manual calibration option like some higher-end models.
If the issue persists after cleaning, updating, and reinstalling, it likely indicates a faulty CIS scanner sensor.
I hope this helps.
