HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301-3304 3388 Printer Series

I cannot find where or how to resize a copy on the printer panel. All copies come out down the middle of the page and never fill an entire page no matter which letter size is selected. there is no "wheel" on the screen for settings.

This should be easy and seamless, especially for an AP product, what am I missing?

Hi @Johnson2881

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for laying this out so clearly—I’m really sorry the copy resizing feature feels hidden or unavailable. It’s frustrating when something that should be intuitive ends up slowing you down, especially on a device designed for professional use.

Let’s walk through a few steps to help you access and control the copy size settings on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301–3304 series:

1. Use the HP Smart App for Enhanced Copy Controls The printer panel may not expose all resizing options directly.

  • Download the HP Smart App for Windows or macOS.
  • Open the app and select your printer.
  • Tap Copy > Settings.
  • Look for Resize, Fit to Page, or Custom Scaling options.
  • Adjust the scale and preview before copying.

2. Try the Embedded Web Server (EWS) This gives you access to advanced settings via browser.

  • Find your printer’s IP address on the control panel under Settings > Network Setup.
  • Enter the IP into a browser to open the EWS.
  • Navigate to Copy Settings and look for Resize or Scaling options.

3. Confirm Paper Size and Tray Settings If the printer thinks it’s using a smaller paper size, it may center the copy.

  • On the control panel, go to Settings > Paper Setup > Tray 1.
  • Confirm it’s set to Letter or A4, matching your actual paper.
  • Also check Default Copy Settings for layout or scaling options.

4. Use “Fit to Page” via the Control Panel (if available) Some models offer a simplified resize toggle.

  • Tap Copy > Settings > Resize or Layout.
  • Select Fit to Page or Actual Size.
  • If no option appears, try accessing it via the HP Smart App or EWS.

5. Update Firmware Missing features can sometimes be restored with a firmware update.

Please try these steps and let me know if the resizing options become available. I truly hope this helps you regain full control over your copy output and eliminates that frustrating center-strip layout. If it’s still elusive, I’ll be here to help you dig deeper.
