PageWide Pro 477 Paper Drawer will not raise

This is a printer I use at work.  Whenever I replace the paper in drawer 2 (default drawer), the paper fails to raise, therefore, when I try to print I get an error message:  "The tray has too much paper or paper is jammed.  Open or remove Tray 2 and clear excess paper.  Close Tray 2.  Once done, touch OK".

There is no jam, there never was a jam, I am wondering if there is something wrong with the drawer, it doesn't matter how much paper is in the drawer, takes about 20 minutes of attempting to print before it seems to clear itself, raise the paper and print normally.

Maybe, wasn't my choice as it's a work printer, but not really a helpful answer I'm afraid.
