OfficeJet Pro 8025
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just got a new OfficeJet Pro 8025 and while setting it up I found that I could not fit paper into the paper tray. I looked at the manual and saw that there was a button for extending the tray Which seems to be what I need however when I push the button I am unable to slide/extend the tray. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What paper size are you trying to load in your Officejet Pro 8020?  The document here shows how to adjust the paper tray.  My experience (on an Officejet Pro 8600) was that the tray tends to "stick", it may be difficult to move the first time.  I had good results using two hands (one on each side of the tray) and pulling evenly and sharply on the tray.

Thanks a bunch for the help. I was trying to use standard 8.5 x 11 paper. Once I saw you said it can be kinda stuck at first I pulled extra hard while pushing button and it worked. I guess I wasn’t pulling hard enough at first since I was scared I might break it.

I am glad I could help.  The first time I tried this I was afraid I was going to break the tray.  Fortunately, although they stick they are also pretty tough :-).   In the future, if you need to adjust it again it should be easier, in my case it was only the initial movement that was "stuck".

WAIT!! I might be wrong, it's not quite right once I put it back in the printer. However, I can NOT adjust it using the gray tab-bie thingy, it is not physically possible. ps I am disappointed, I bought the officejet 3820 first but it was so junky,  so I exchanged for the 8025 and this one does not seem much better. Plus I couldn't believe how much extra plastic packaging was with this!

I see it's already solved, but I thought I'd post the diagram I made to answer a similar post. Cheers!

Yes, but the button for 8½ X 11 is UNDER the paper. I have slammed it in but in any case the printer jams or pulls multiple sheets of paper into the printer and then jams. I have yet to have a successful multi-page print.

The paper slides up the "finger" at the far end of the tray. The bottom sheets are at the foot of the "fingers" How does this work?

Also a minimum of 10 pages, maximum of 25. Got to run back and forth to fill it up.

@woolfcoop  - Please post in a new thread so your issue can be better addressed.  I would suggest posting in the board here:  https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/bd-p/PostPrint
