Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

iOS

I need to print ID cards but to the size of the cards. I have carried out much research but even when I scan on the printer the printed version is still larger the original. I have a 2700 series printer.

If you are using HP Smart Mobile and iOS (not iPadOS), from what I can glean from the documentation, it is true that the options are distressingly limited for "actual size" scanning and printing.

The limited options might be similar for Android scan / capture and printing.

Scan might capture the actual size -- or might not -- depending on the method and the device.

Also depending on the device, the Operating System, and the application, Print size tends to match the size of the paper.

Note >>

HP Smart - Mobile - iPadOS - does include a "Transform / Resize" choice for "Original Size"

What else?

The printer does require a larger margin along the bottom edge for printing.

This is not an issue if you are printing a smaller image on a larger paper -- but since print size is nearly impossible to control accurately using the app, the odd margin might actually impact the results.

Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)

3 mm

Aside from that margin limitation, the printer is not aware of the content it prints.

If you can use an application or the full driver printer software on an actual computer (or even MacOS), the scan and print options are more robust.
