Hi,
Let's try to use Windows in-OS scan
Windows 10 : Scan using the In-Os drivers
It's for WIndows 10 but worth a shot for the situation you're in.
Thanks.

Hi greenturtle, I always scanned documents using the in-OS drivers procedure bu it didn't work until now.... do you know what happened? This morning I switched-on my laptop and my printer and now, magically, the printer scan and print properly. What doesn't work is the PDF print creator which is a software that allows me to transform a generic file in a pdf file but I don't care (to me it's more important to scan documents than transform pdf file). And so, for me it happened (I am not a technician) that the HP printer driver took (don't ask me how) the place of the PDF print driver and so now it finally works. Indeed now my PC is asking that it is not able to find the pdf printer driver but I don't care. I really thank you a lot for your help and patience and just tell me if you need that I release a super positive reviews of your assistance help. have a nice day alvin
