HP PageWide Pro 477dw MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP Community,

we are trying to configure the Scan to Sharepoint funcitonality using a Office365 sharepoint site.

But after configuring the printer we recieve.  Whenever we try to scan to that site we recieve an error message on the printer containing:

Connection Problem

This server is not supported (Protocol error.)

Has anyone had any experience with this error?

Could it be a missing update?

Same printer, and same problem. This would be a great feature if it worked. Would love to get it up and running

Hi HP Team,

Same problem here with the last firmware update

Just bought HP Pagewide 477dw for the Sharepoint feature but it does not work at all.

Configuration says "OK" in embedded HP Webserver but Printer says "Protocol Error"

What is your suggestion to solve this issue ?

Thanks in advance...

Philippe

Did anyone figure this one out?  I guess HP can't be bothered to help, they are presumably too busy re-designing the inkwells for the Pagewide 478 to make them different from the 477.

Same issue, however I am using the HP OfficeJet Pro 8740.

I've tried different techniques shown via different YouTube videos that all end with the same protocol error on my end. The instructions, to include those on HP's videos, differ in options after connecting to the EWS:

"Scan/Digital Send" nav-button is not available, only "Scan", for example.

Additional Questions:

Q: Is the SharePoint Path URL supposed to end with the ".aspx" extension? If using a Sub-Folder I've noticed that it does not.

Q: Is this protocol error issue somehow bypassed by selecting the "Always use the following credentials" option under Step 2: Log-in Authentication? If so;

Q: Is the Domain and Username criteria requested during the Log-In Authentication step acceptable with the following example credentials? I am purely looking for the proper syntax.

Domain Ex.: https://BusinessName.sharepoint.com/

Username Ex.: FLast123@BusinessName.com

HP Support just admitted to me that there is a general problem with almost all of there printers regarding scanning to Office 365. They see the problem on Microsoft's side and referred to possible future firmware updates...

Absurd that there's still no fix for this.  Just called HP and they said they would "look into it" -- if no fix, I'll be returning this printer to BestBuy.
