HP Photosmart D110

I was printinng a 3-page document - first 2 came out fine but the third triggered an alert "paper jam". I cannot find a paper jam but the printer makes a clicking sound when I try to print that third page. Any ideas? Do I need to buy a new printer? Is something broken?

@brithaw39,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer?

Are you able to move the carriage freely?

Have you tried to print the Printer status report?

Let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly from the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to print the Printer status report.

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. Touch the button () next to the Setup icon () in the lower-left corner of the control panel.

  3. Touch the Right Arrow button () to select Tools, and then touch OK.

  4. Touch the Right Arrow button () to select Printer Status Report, and then touch OK. The product prints the test page.

  • If these steps resolved the issue, and the test page prints, there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
