Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Hi! I have the following printers that I am wanting to donate and/or reycle:

HP Officejet 4630

HP Envy 5660

HP Envy 5661

Do these printers have any kind of memory that would require wiping/deleting? If so, how can I ensure that there are no documents or information stored on these printers?

Thanks for the assistance!

Hi @JGMY38 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Printers like the ones you mentioned typically have some form of internal memory or storage. While it's not as extensive as the memory in a computer or a smartphone, it's still a good practice to take precautions before donating or recycling electronic devices to ensure that any sensitive information is properly erased.

Here are some general steps you can take to clear any potentially stored data on the printers:

Reset to Factory Defaults:

  • Navigate through the printer menu or use the printer's web interface to find the option to reset the device to factory defaults. This will often remove user settings and stored data.

Remove Print Queues:

  • On the printer's control panel or through its web interface, check for and clear any print jobs or queues. This ensures that no documents are left in the printer's memory.

Network Settings:

  • Reset any network settings to remove stored Wi-Fi passwords or network configurations.

Remove External Storage:

  • Some printers allow for the connection of external storage devices. If you've used this feature, make sure to remove any USB drives or memory cards.

Update Firmware:

  • Check for and install the latest firmware for the printer. Manufacturers often release updates that may include improvements to security and memory handling.

User Manuals:

  • Refer to the user manuals of each printer model for specific instructions on resetting and clearing data.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
