HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer

Printer only printing black or color stripes (full page) when I want to make a copy.  Printer working fine when I print from the laptop.

I understand your HP ENVY Photo 7155 is printing full pages of black or color stripes when making a copy, while printing from your laptop works fine. This issue is typically related to the scanner or copy function, not the print system itself.

Here are some steps to help resolve the issue:

Check Scanner Glass and Lid

  • Lift the scanner lid and inspect the glass surface for any dust, smudges, or debris.
  • Clean the glass with a lint-free cloth and glass cleaner (avoid spraying directly on the glass).
  • Also check the white backing on the underside of the lid for any marks or damage.

Perform a Copy Test

  • Place a clean document face-down on the scanner glass.
  • Use the Copy button on the printer to make a black and white and color copy.
  • Observe if the issue persists.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try copying again.

Update Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause copy and scan issues.

  • Visit the HP Support page.
  • Download and install the latest firmware for your printer.
  • After updating, restart the printer and test the copy function.

Reset the Printer

If the issue continues:

  1. On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Settings.
  2. Choose Restore Factory Defaults.
  3. Reconfigure the printer and test again.
