Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

My scanner has suddenly started scanning on its own without any prompting from any of our connected devices. It started a few days ago and only noticed it because I happen to be in the room when it did it. It scans then says the scan was sent successfully, but I am not seeing it on any of our computers or phones. I restarted the printer and the firmware is up to date.

Hi @E_P,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing an unusual issue where your printer is performing scans autonomously. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Scheduled Tasks: Ensure there are no scheduled tasks or automated scan settings configured on the printer itself. This can typically be managed through the printer's control panel or settings menu.

Disable Automatic Updates: Sometimes, automatic updates or settings changes can trigger unexpected behaviour. Consider disabling automatic updates and monitoring if the issue persists.

Network Security: Verify your network's security settings. Ensure that unauthorized devices are not connected to your network, and no unwanted applications are triggering the scan function.

Firmware Check: You mentioned that the firmware is up-to-date https://support.hp.com/us-en. Double-check this to confirm, as a firmware update can sometimes resolve unexpected issues.

Uninstall and Reinstall Printer Software: Sometimes a fresh installation of the printer's software on connected devices can resolve communication issues that might be causing unexpected scans.

Perform a Hard Reset: Perform a hard reset of the printer by unplugging it from the power source for a minute, then reconnecting and powering it on. This can sometimes resolve issues related to software glitches.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
