Product: HP office jet 3830

I recently set up my laptop to my printer and as part of the process was asked to give a fax number. I don’t use the fax. I input a made up number- is this ok?

This is perfectly OK.

 

When setting the software the fax configuration wizard appears.

 

That can be skipped or provided with any details, those are not applicable when faxing isn't being used.
