@Palermokid

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. I came across your post and would like to assist.

I understand that your HP Officejet Pro 6835 e-All-in-One Printer is unable to scan and make copies. I read that the printer prints fine. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

The printer not making a photocopy indicates towards a scanner issue in the printer. Please perform a hard reset on the printer in the below format:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

Ty to make a copy using the document feeder and later use the glass bed. When you using the glass bed to make a copy, the scanner bulb beneath the glass bed glows and moves across to copy the original document that is placed on the glass.

While making a copy through the document feeder, the original documents moves through the feeder and the scanner bulb glows and remains stagnant until the document moves completely.

If the above actions are not happening then it points that the scanner hardware has failed and you can contact our HP phone support team to check the available service options for your HP printer.

Hope this information helps. Let me know. Good luck! 🙂
