Product: HP Envy 4500
Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

I need my HP Envy 4500 printer/scanner to scan to .tiff file type. I've seen a support thread advising that this is possible using the "everyday scan" feature, however I have checked and do not have this feature. Do I need to upgrade my software/driver (I don't know the right terminology..). Where do I go to do that and what package do I select? Thank you!

After you select Scan and click on the Send button at the bottom right you should get the save dialog with Format options.  One of the options should be TIFF.  The software determines the file types (formats) so the model of printer shouldn't matter.

What software are you using to scan?  Both Image Capture (Apple) and HP Easy Scan (HP) have the ability to save as a TIFF.

While I may work for HP Inc, the views and opinions expressed here are my own.

Thank you! very helpful. I usually use the controls on the scanning machine itself rather than the easy scan app on my computer, so I missed that.
