HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer

When I scan and make copies, there is a part of the sheet that comes out black with some colored lines. Here is a test of the scanner.

Hi @integrad,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer is scanning and copying with black streaks and colored lines, this suggests there might be an issue with the scanner hardware or the scanning software. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this problem:

1. Clean the Scanner Glass

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Ensure the printer is turned off and unplugged to prevent any accidental damage.

Open the Scanner Cover:

  • Gently lift the scanner lid to expose the glass surface.

Clean the Glass:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner or a solution of water and vinegar.
  • Wipe the glass surface carefully to remove any dust, smudges, or debris.
  • Make sure to also clean the white strip (scanner calibration strip) that runs along the edge of the glass.

Dry the Glass:

  • Use a dry part of the cloth to ensure there’s no residue left.

Close the Scanner Cover:

  • Close the lid and plug the printer back in.

2. Check for Paper or Ink Issues

Inspect the Scanner Bed:

  • Check the scanner bed for any obstructions or foreign objects that could affect the scan quality.

Verify Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty.
  • Replace any low or empty cartridges.

3. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for firmware updates for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e.
  • Download and install the latest firmware if available.

Update Drivers:

  • Download and install the latest printer drivers from the HP Support website.

4. Perform a Printer Reset

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
