I have used my HP Envy 6230 for photo scanning many times. There seems to have been an update and now the editing functions look different. I can't crop photos as before, there is a grid which is really cumbersome to use, rather than the crop box.  The image sometimes disappears during editing, or when I click edit I just get the tools and photo has gone,or the photo has areas replaced by black blocks. 

I have spent one hour trying to scan one photo without success. what can I do?

I have the same problem with my printer , It was always working well , now I am receiving a message " SCAN not available at this moment" 

please give me a solution.

Thank you but I could not download that package (6200 series full software) - the error said I needed to be part of the Administrators group. I am administrator on this computer, but maybe the link was only one you could use as HP employee.
