I am having problems when scanning documents. If I scan a batch of 30 documnts from a scanner adf to a desktop folder the first batch will scan without a pause. When I scan the second batch of 30 the first 20 or so pages will scan OK and then it will start to pause between each page. When I scan a third batch of 30 the pausing starts much earlier in the batch. As I have many documents and files to scan this is costing an awful lot of time. I have tried different scanning software but the same thing happens. It seems like some sort of cache on the folder which builds up and pauses the scanning. Can anyone please enlighten me ? Thanks.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you provide me with the exact Product number of the printer? If you're not sure how to find the information, please use this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824  (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Have you tried to scan each file by giving some interval?

Have you tried to update the printer firmware? If available

Hi Jeet

 

Thanks for your contact. I am using a Brother MFC-5890CN scanner. I have a new HP pavilion PC 570-p050 running on an i5 - 7400  3Ghz series processor and 8GB RAM. The scanner firmware is up to date. 

 

The scanning starts OK (continual scanning without pausing) but gets progressively slower the more batches I scan. By the third and fourth batch the pausing between each sheet of paper is very noticeable (around 15 seconds). It appears that as  the desktop folder takes more files the slower the scanning becomes. If I clear the scanned PDF's from the desktop folder then the scanning is OK again. If I leave the PC for a time and return the process speeds up again.

 

Any suggestions ?

I this case, I would recommend you to contact the printer's manufacturer, and get the device software's updated. 🙂
