HP OPfficeJet 9010 Scan to sharepoint 365

Hi SandyTechy, 

I have the same issue with a HP LaserJet MFP M479dfw printer.  I can not scan to SharePoint - it gives me "Protocol Error - Check your Network Settings".  

From what I can see online, hundreds of other people have the same issue and are not getting an answer to help them solve that problem.  Thanks for copying the instruction / procedure from the manual - but we are already doing all those steps.  

Is HP Product Management or HP Engineering aware of the problem ?  Do you have a "suggestion box" ?  If so, please add this issue to the box.  

From what I can tell, the middleware/software that connects the printer to SharePoint is not ready for primetime - either it has some bugs or the users are not entering the correct information for the Sharepoint Domain Name, UserName and Password.

PS: If I can not address this issue, I am seriously thinking of dragging my printer back to the place I bought it from............

Hi,

Be aware that the printer only supports scanning to a local SharePoint server (on-premise), not to SharePoint 365 cloud version.

Yes, it is really unfortunate that it can not Scan to Office 365 SharePoint since that is really where the Small Business/Home Office markets are (on-premise is for medium & large businesses).   HP's competition is all doing it (meaning scan to OneDrive, Box, Google Docs, iCloud, .....etc).  Some one needs to tell the Product Manager for the HP MFP line of printers that they are missing the boat - feel free to add this feedback to HP's "suggestion box" & also please add the fact that customer/technical  support via phone needs to know & understand this - when we call they seem confused........
