HP Envy 5660 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

This printer is brand new and this is it's first time being used. I tried to print a copy of an e-mail by pressing COPY on the printer screen and then 1 copy in black. The printer produced a blank page. 15 minutes later I  pressed COPY again and a printed copy appeared without a new PRINT prompt on the e-mail site. I repeated the same process several more times and each time Ist copy was blank and second attempt produced a copy.

Hi@Carlos1939, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Have you tried making a Standalone Black and Color copy and check if that works?

Power resetting the printer, Updating the printer firmware and cleaning the ink cartridges may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:

Step 1: Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step 2: Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Step 3: Use Compatible ink cartridges

Step 4: Check the estimated ink levels

On the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon  to display the current estimated ink levels.

Example of estimated ink levels.

Step 5: Clean the ink cartridges

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

    The Setup menu displays.

  2. Swipe the display up, and then touch Printer Maintenance.

  3. Touch Clean Cartridges.

A Print Quality Diagnostic report prints. Examine the print quality.

  4. Clean the ink nozzles, perform step 14 from this document.

Step 6: Replace the problem ink cartridge

If you have a defective cartridge or printhead, it might be under warranty. To check the warranty on your ink or toner supplies, go to Printer and Page Yield Overview, and then review the limited warranty information for your supplies.

Let me know how this goes.
