I am also getting the grey background and can't find where to adjust the background (using OfficeJet Pro 7720). Very annoying...

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

The following resource will help you :

https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.


Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

 

Start up the HP printer Assistant after the FULL feature software is installed.

 

Go to Scan and after scanning a documenty, there are tabs to adjust the contrast and brightness (making the document brighter and whiter)

 

The following resource will show more scanning tips.

Thanks for that. I have downloaded the software and have worked out most elements. However, it is scanning in greyscale and I can't find out where to change to colour?

Hi thanks for the reply. I am working off a MacBook Pro, so the iOS software interface is completely different. I managed to work it out by starting the scan again, and before pressing scan, clicking on 'Presets', then a number of options, including colour become available. Not very intuitive, but got there in the end. Hopefully it will be of some help to mac UsersScreen Shot 2017-11-29 at 3.33.52 PM.png
