I have lost the PIN required to Scan Documents to a File on my Computer. I printer is OfficeJet pro 8600 which is setup on a wireless home network with a Pace 4111N wireless Router. My operating system is Windows 10 64 bit. Is there a way to recover this pin or to reset it?

Resetting the printer to its factory settings may resolve this issue.
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
- In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage
Let me know how this goes.

Thank you for joining the HP Community
Usually, the printer does not need any pin when trying to scan.
Make sure the printer and computer are connected to the same network.
Are you facing the same issue while making a copy?
In the meantime, when you answer the above.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity
Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
-
Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
-
If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on and then click Retry.
-
If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
-
-
If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
-
If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
-
Try to Scan.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

Yes the Printer is the default printer and works fine. The problem is when I originally setup the scanner i set it up to scan documents to a File on my Computer. For security reason the setup required a PIN. It is this PIN that I can not Remember and without it i can not scan any documents
