HP OfficeJet Pro 9015
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have multiple computers connected wirelessly to my 9510. If I wish to scan using the printer touch pad to a computer it asks me to select one. Trouble is the names of the computers listed are difficult to remember which computer is which. For example it says Scan to DESKTOP - NRTZRR7. I would like to rename these designations to be clearer which computer I'm scanning to.

@Thomas035, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The printer detects the name of the computers. The name change has to be done on the computer.

  1. Open Settings and go to System > About(at the bottom).
  2. In the About menu, you should see the name of your computer next to PC name and a button that says Rename PC. Click this button.
  3. Type the new name for your computer. You can use letters, numbers, and hyphens -- no spaces. Then click Next.
  4. Restart the PC to check the change.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

So simple. Your directions were spot on. I renamed both of the computers that access the printer an will have no trouble now scanning and saving to the correct computer.
