I've set up the scanning software on my MacAir laptop. My scanner was working perfectly and scanned 4 documents, showing my correct computer on the screen. However when I went to scan my next document it wouldn't connect to my computer, just kept saying "accessing" and then said I needed to set up the software again. I turned the computer off thinking restarting it would help and when I went to scan it didn't even show my computer as an option anymore, just said I needed to set up the software again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@HomeBizLife, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Are you able to make photocopies on the printer?
Are you able to print from the computer?
What happens when you scan from the computer?
Meanwhile, I'd suggest you remove and reinstall the HP printer software, refer to the document for help HP Printers - Uninstalling HP Printer Software (Mac)
Once the printer is configured, follow the steps-
1.) On your Mac, click Finder, click Applications, click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder, then double-click HP Utility. (If HP Utility is not available, download and install the printer essential software from here)
2.) Under Scan Settings, click Scan to Computer, then make sure the Enable Scan to Computer check box is selected.
Now, try scanning.
Refer to the document How to scan with an HP printer for additional help.
