I was shocked to find that I am required to logon to my HP Account to use my HP scanner. Why? It is not convenient for the user. It must simply serve some marketing purpose for HP. Oh well, I am leaving HP as a result their firmware updates that require people to use HP ink. I have always used HP ink , but this removal of consumer choice is intolerable.
If I had not already decided to buy a competitor's product after the firmware debacle, this requirement to login to their network to use a printer on my network simply shows that HP has lost its formerly customer-centric perspective.

I've been googling why we need to create an account with HP to scan, and landed here. This login business requiring to scan cripples MFP. that's a big issue for us. All printers between our two clinics have always been HP, and we have had to use a third-party app to scan. I will be returning these two MFP, and try another brand.
