Hi Users,
after updating my system from openSuSE 15.3 => 15.4 i could not use scan-tools like hp-scan any more. I always get the following error:
SANE: Error during device I/O (code=9)
/var/log/messages reports something like:
/hp-scan: common/utils.c 178: validate_plugin_version() Plugin version[3.22.2] mismatch with HPLIP version[3.22.10]
running
> hp-check -t
could not install missing rpms like pyqt, pyqt-notify
After searching serveral days now I found a solution:
In the /var/log/messages I found the information that a Plugin-Version did not match, but running
> hp-plugin -i
did not work. I need to run
> aa-disable /usr/share/hplip/plugin.py
from package apparmor-utils do disable the AppArmor security profile for the hplip/plugin.py before I could sucessfully download the needed plugins.
looks like several users had the same issue before and I hope this would help them.
