HP Officejet 5740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have reinstalled the full feature software three times since this problem began and still no results.  I can print fine, but not scan.  There are no error messages associated with this problem.  I have tried the print and scan doctor; however, it hangs up at the WIA test and will not procede.  I have checked the device services associated with the problem and all of them are enabled and on automatic.  The WIA is the only one showing stopping, but it is in automatic mode.

Thanking you in advance for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try this:

HP Scan Extended

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Let us know if that works.

Thanks!  I'm back in business.  It even helped solve my 2-sided scan issue.
