My scan option disappeared off of my app. Now it just says camera scan which I don’t like because of glares. I have tried everything and cannot get it back. Anyone else have this problem? I have a ton of pictures I want to scan using my printer and I cannot figure it out. I have deleted the app, started the printer over.

I Understand your concern about the scan option, especially when you have a lot of photos lined up to scan. 

 

Could you please share the exact model number of your HP printer? 

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Check HP Smart app settings: Open the app, go to Settings or Preferences, and look for “Scan” options. Sometimes the default changes to “Camera Scan” after an update.
  2. Update the app and printer firmware: Make sure both the HP Smart app and your printer’s firmware are fully updated. Outdated versions can cause features to disappear.
  3. Use Windows built-in scan tool (if on PC): On Windows, search for Windows Fax and Scan or Scan in the Start menu it often works even if the app option is missing.
  4. Reconnect the printer: Remove the printer from the app, then re-add it. This can refresh the available features.
