Since HP switched to so called HP Smart software the scan dialogue box text is too small for me to read!
Prior to re installing HP software it was fine but I had to reset my computer which removed the HP and other apps so they all had to be re installed.
Why is HP issuing software that is not suitable for 4k monitors?
Or am I missing something here? Is there a setting within HP that I can use to adjust text size.
Incidently, the text for all my other programs is fine. The problem lies solely with HP!
Please advise.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand that your HP smart app-text size is small, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the HP smart app?
- Could you please share the picture of the smart app-text?
Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.
First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Restart your computer.
- Click the bottom-left Start button on the desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu.
- Once in device manager, click on the view tab at the top & choose “Show hidden devices”.
- Then from the device manager list, check the entries under “Printer” – If there are any entries, please right click and choose “uninstall” – In the confirm device un-install pop-up, make sure you select the box which says “Delete the driver software for this device".
- Also, check the entries under "printer queue" and "imaging devices" and repeat the same exercise. Delete any printer entry or any entry which says “Unknown device”.
- Once done, close device manger. Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go running window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Once done you can try cleaning out your temporary files and cached files. You can try using automated applications like some cleaner software's that you can download from the internet.
- Now restart your computer again.
- Open the Run window again, type “services.msc” and press ok to get the services window.
- Scroll down to “Remote Procedure Call (RPC)” – right-click and go to properties. Make sure the service is started and the startup type is “Automatic”.
- Now scroll up and go to “Function Discovery Provider Host” – right-click and select properties – Change the startup type to “manual” and start the service.
- Repeat the same exercise on “Function Discovery Resource Publication” as well
- Windows image acquisition stop and restart the service
Reinstall the drivers from the Software and drivers page
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Many thanks ECHO-LAKE for taking the time to reply to my query.
Since sending the message I found that by going to "Display" settings I could rectify the problem.
Why Windows doesn't have this solution alongside the slider for increasing font size [In Accessibility settings] I don't know!!!!!
Thanks again.

Would someone please share to what I need to change in my display setting to fix the small dialog boxes when using the print/scan for my HP Envy 6458e printer. Tried the reinstall (multiple times) and updated the drivers via Windows Update. And HP boxes are the only ones coming out tiny.
Thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Thank You for the info Betty0610,
I ran through the steps you listed and everything ran well with no issues, but after reboot, the small dialog boxes were still there. for both print/copy and scan. They're even smaller using the scan function for some reason.
And it appears to be just my computer out of three. My wife and daughter appear normal size. It seems there may be a display setting with is different on mine.
I have an HP Spectre X360 Convertible 15t-eb000. For now it's workable with a magnifying glass. I may have to live with this.
Thanks

HI Mr Sticks,
I am using Windows 11 so not 100% sure that my settings are the same as yours.
Having said that, this is what I did to correct my small text in the HP dialogue box.
Go to Settings/System/ then on the right side you should see "Display". At the right end of that rectangular dialogue box you should see a small downward facing arrowhead. Click on this to reveal several alternative sizes for your text. My default one was 150% but I altered this to 200% and bingo no small text in HP's dialogue box.

Thank You for the info.
I'm on Windows 11 also and my scale default was 250. Jumped to 300 and dialog box remained unchanged. Could not go any higher. There would be a risk of other apps that would be screwed up and unreadable.
It's doable the way it is. As long as I can do prints and scans, it'll be fine. It is what it is.

Hi Mr Sticks,
Funny thing is that after I brought my computer out of sleep next day the text had reverted to small again:-( Even though my setting in display still said 200%:-(
As you say, until HP or Windows cures this problem we as mere customers will have to put up with it.
best wishes,
