Scan from onboard printer display - receive a diaglog WSD Scan device

hp 6962 All In One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I attempt to scan from the printer display I get a Dialog box - WSD Scan Device  -This event is sent when the device is ready to transfer an image file.  Select the program to launch for this action.  There are 2 option listed  Windows FAX and Scan application or Scan (capture pictures or other images from the scanner)  Don't understand any of this.  Since updating the original software which worked just fine to this app nothing but problem.   I have checked the Windows Image Acquisition is running and in automatic.  Additionally when I try to uninstall the software I cannot find it in the Programs and Features list.

any suggestions would be appreciated especially if I can get the original software back.

Thank you for the reply but I did try that option.  The original software was simple and easy to use but now HP has forced  me to use their cloud services.  Not a fan of cloud services.  I have bee able to use the printer on screen services after loading HP smart app.  I also had a problem with printing a screen shot that looked OK in preview but did not print correctly.  Converted those to a PDF and all is well.
