Unfortunately,

After the fact, you cannot retrieve a file sent to anyone, whether or not the recipient was the intended target.

Scan to Email setup works differently depending on the printer model, the method - for example, SMTP / EWS compared to using a computer and full software driver, or using HP Smart app in Windows or Mobile.

The Scan to Email methods do not generally change the outcome of having sent mail to an unwanted or unwilling destination.

Once sent, the mail service tries to deliver the package.

If the recipient mail address is not a valid address

If the recipient's email provider normally refuses mail from Third party apps,

The mail service will likely not deliver the mail.

Whether or not you receive a delivery notice depends on the method and whether the app or software has the ability to send a notification of any type.
