Scanning via all apps has stopped working from my Windows 7 laptop but still works for the other computers in the house. Printing works from all devices.
To fix this I have tried reinstalling the drivers (many times) but to no avail. I have tried with wired and wireless network connections. I have also run the HP Print and Scan Doctor which reports an error with Windows WIA. Certain forum posts suggest stopping and starting the various services involved to fix this which I did but saw no improvement. Lastly I have tried disabling the firewall but again this made no difference.
Any suggestions?
Any help would be gratefully received.

I see that you are having issues with scanning . I will certainly do my best to help you.
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. http://www.hp.com/go/tools>Using HP Diagnostic Tools for HP Printers in Windows.
Check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services:
- Click the Windows icon (
), type services.msc in the Search programs and files box, and then click the services.msc link under Programs. If prompted, click Yes.
- In the Services window, right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service, and then click Properties.
- Click the Dependencies tab.
- Make sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Shell Hardware Detection are listed, and then close the Properties window.
- In the main Services window, make sure that Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and Shell Hardware Detection show as Started in the Status column. If they do not, continue to the next step to start the service.
- In the Services window, right-click Windows Image Acquisition.
- If the option to start the service is available, click Start.
- If the option to stop the service is available, click Stop. When the service stops, right-click Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) again, and then start the service.
- Close the Services window.
You might have to configure the firewall.

Here is a document for setting up the Scan to Network Folder, to verify the settings.
