Scan saves as blank pdf

My HP Scan doesn't have a box for  "Long-term preservation (PDF/A)".  Any suggestions?

Use the HP Easy Scan app, not the scan tool b built into the printer. You'll be able to check that box once the scan is done and you "send" to a folder or printer.

When I hit send, the drop down box doesn't have that box to check

Sorry to hear that. I have no idea if that box is only for the Mac version of EasyScan or not. 

Hopefully someone from HP is monitoring these communities. This seems like a bug in the software to me.

have you found a solution.  Our MACBOOKPRO just updated OS now gets blank pages from HP 7740 all in one.  It works just fine to our IMAC that has not been updated.  Seems like either an ADOBE or a MAC OS problem??????  Can't stand the extra work required to use HP Smart SCAN when the all in one printer used to work just fine for single or multiple page scans.  OUCH.  Interestingly enough this only seems to happen when trying to scan as PDF.  It works just fine as JPEG but the file sizes are outrageous.  HELP if you can please.

We too are having the same issue with mac book pro.  Upgraded to lates Ventura 13.0.1 and BAM no more scan of PDF from HP 7740 printer.  It sends blank pages.  Sends JPEG fine, but huge file size.  Is there a way to uninstall the upgrade? or another fix been found.  Nothing on the HP site identifies this issue.  I don't think it is an ADOBE problem.

Perhaps it is a Mac upgrade issue. I have a brand new HP Pro laser all-in-one and an older HP Officejet Pro 8600 and both have the same issues. If I scan a document I see the completed scan but when saving as pdf the document is blank. Using an iMac with Ventura 13.0.1.

I followed the advice to check "long-term preservation" using EasyScan and the pdf was no longer blank.

Me too. Right after updating to Ventura OS

To check the box, we have to be using the Mac and the HP Easy Scan program.   I think that is the pain point that everyone is experiencing. It was very simple t stick a page on the flatbed or feeder, push a button and feed the pages directly to the laptop that is sitting in another room. Now there is a lot of back and forth between the computer and the scanner.
