Hi @TekXperts, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Most HP printers with a Scan or Copy function offer a "ID Copy" or "ID Card Scan" feature, allowing you to scan both sides of an ID card and place them on a single page. Here’s how you can do it:
Method 1: Using the Printer's Copy Function (For Printers with "ID Copy" Feature)
- Place the front side of the ID card face down on the scanner glass.
- Press Copy > ID Copy (or Copy Menu > ID Card Copy on some models).
- The printer scans the first side. When prompted, flip the ID card over to scan the back side.
- Press OK or Start to complete the copy.
- The printer will print both sides of the ID on a single page.
Method 2: Using HP Smart App (For Scanning to a Digital File)
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Click on Scan.
- Place the front side of the ID card on the scanner and click Scan.
- Flip the ID card to the back side and click Add Pages or Scan Again.
- Once both sides are scanned, click Save > Choose PDF format.
- The file will now contain both scanned sides on a single page.
Method 3: Using HP Scan Software (For PCs with HP Scanning Software)
- Open HP Scan (or HP Easy Scan on macOS).
- Select "Document to File" or "Custom Scan".
- Scan the front side first.
- Flip the ID card and scan the back side.
- Use the Combine into Single Page option to merge both scans.
- Save as a PDF file.
Manually Combining Using a Document Editor
If your printer does not have an ID Copy feature, you can:
- Scan both sides separately using any scan method.
- Open a program like Microsoft Word, Paint, or Adobe Acrobat.
- Arrange both images onto a single page.
- Save or print as needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
