When trying to scan to computer using the option on the Printer touchscreen it tells me to download the software from 123.hp.com which directs me to the Smart App (already installed) Then it says "Open the software and select 'Print scan & fax', 'Scan' and 'Manage Scan to computer'. These options do not appear on Smart App.
What I can find is 'Scan to Computer Webscan' but that says "You cannot use this function because it has been disabled. For more information, contact the person who set up the printer." I didn't disable it and I'm the the guy who set up the printer.
The HP help for their so called 'Smart' app is appalling.

Hi,
Follow HP Easy Start by selecting the Basic or Full Software option for your printer:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/HPEasyStart_11_5_4644_17.exe
Once completing the installation front panel scanning should become available.

Thank you for this reply. It has solved the issues I was having. I don't know why HP doesn't just direct its new users to this rather than the 'Smart' App. I wish I had had this software right at the beginning.
