HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

At some point the HP Embedded Web Server did not allow to Scan to Computer anymore. I cannot set up anything on the "Settings" area. Scanning using the HP Smart App works, and I can see my computer on the display of the device, but I cannot set it up to scan to my computer as it used to. I've tried everything I can think of.

How can I solve the issue and go back to being able to set up Scan to Computer?
To scan and print over the network (and A3-capability) were the main function required when I purchased it, and it is extremely frustrating that it stopped working and I cannot reconfigure it.

@Giuliano81, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Webscan Issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If Webscan has been disabled in the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS), you need to enable it to scan photos and documents from your printer to your computer using a web browser. Follow these steps:

Enabling Webscan

Open the Embedded Web Server:

  • Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your printer to access the Embedded Web Server.

Log in as Administrator:

  • Ensure you are logged in as an administrator. If you do not have admin access, contact your network administrator for assistance.

Navigate to Administrator Settings:

  • Click the Settings tab.
  • In the Security section, click Administrator Settings.

Enable Webscan:

  • Select Webscan from EWS to enable Webscan.
  • Click Apply.

Using Webscan

Once Webscan is enabled, follow these steps to scan using Webscan:

Load Original Document:

  • Load your original print-side down on the scanner glass or print-side up in the document feeder.

Access Webscan Functionality:

  • Open the Embedded Web Server.
  • Click the Scan tab.
  • Click Webscan in the left pane, change any settings, and then click Start Scan.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
