"Scan to computer" function (from the window of the OfficeJet) worked great until the Mac Ventura OS update. Now, this workflow results in a blank white PDF.
The only way to scan now is to go to the computer and use the HP Easy Scan application (ironic). It was much simpler and easier to scan directly from the computer.
There are other threads on this issue so it is not just me. IS HP WORKING ON AN UPDATE?

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are unable to scan to computer, I am glad to assist you.
Make sure the correct driver is installed, troubleshoot network issues, and make sure the scan to computer connection is enabled.
Use the following list of troubleshooting tips to resolve the issue:
Restart the computer and printer:
Turning the devices off and on again can restore the connection between the printer and the Mac.
Install the HP driver: The HP driver is required to enable the scan button on the printer. If you have not installed the driver yet, go to 123.hp.com, type your printer model, and then follow the instructions to complete the printer setup.
Enable the scan to computer connection:
From the Printers & Scanners window, click Options & Supplies > Utility > Scan to Computer to enable the connection. If you cannot find HP Utility, try another tip.

Use another scanning method or app: If you cannot scan to your Mac from your printer, try using an app, such as HP app or HP Easy Scan, or another method, such as Scan to Email or Scan to Network.
Keep me posted.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.

I think you misunderstand. This advice would be better suited if the computer device did not show up on the screen, but it does show up.
The issue is that ever since the upgrade to Ventura 13.0.1, when I go through the scan process from the All in One device screen, the resulting scan on the computer is a blank white page. I know there are workarounds using the EasyScan software, but am trying to restore the ability to scan directly from the All-In-One itself.
A lot of Mac users are having this issue after the latest update. I have restarted everything and all software is allegedly up to date.

Yes the firmware is up to date. The only way that I can scan to laptop from the all in one screen (ie, skip using EasyScan program) is to save as JPG instead of PDF. Then I have to convert the file. This is what a lot of people are saying too. Need a patch to allow direct scanning from the all in one as a PDF again. My computer shows up, etc. It is just that the scan is blank when PDF is selected ever since the update to the new operating system on Mac. (Ventura 13.0.1)

I am running version 13.2, and this issue is still occurring. When I use the Scan to Computer function, which I have used hundreds of times before, the PDF file ends up blank. It works only when I use the HP Easy Scan software, but that is much more time consuming (particularly on front/back pages).
Has there been a patch? Is there some other way to update it? I have checked to make sure my firmware is up to date and that my software is up to date. I have unplugged and replugged the printer. It does not work.
