Hi guys,
Need your little assistance and guide here.
I have this printer but failed to connect to my company Gmail address.
I went through several posts in HP Community on the related topics but still failed.
- Gmail smtp configuration checked but failed too
- Gmail 2FA enable and using Apps password - tried but failed too
Error message when runs the Test on Printer's EWS portal --> Scan to Email setup:
Cannot resolve the SMTP server.
Check the SMTP and DNS server settings with your system administrator or Internet Service Provider.
For your information, I'm one of Gmail's System Administrator.
Please advice. Thanks.

Hi Kumar0307,
Thanks for your response and guide.
For your information, we did all the initial troubleshooting such as restart of devices and internet router etc.
However, this not work and un-related to this issue.
We found and suspected that it was due to Gmail account which enable with 2FA (two factor authentication) are not allow to use or enable Less Secure Apps in our Gmail account. Therefore, we cant use this gmail in HP Printer as SMTP outgoing mail.
Do you have any others work-around or option for us to use our company Gmail which compulsory enable with 2FA?
Thanks.

Thank you for replying.
Updating the printer firmware, assigning a manual IP and Google DNS for the printer and then re-configuring the outgoing email profile may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:
Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you can download and install the latest firmware update from here.
Once you are up-to-date with the firmware, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.
For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server.
Once you assign a manual IP and Google DNS for the printer, use the Gmail's Default SMTP Settings listed below to reconfigure the outgoing email profile:
- Gmail SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com
- Gmail SMTP username: Your Gmail address (e.g. example@gmail.com)
- Gmail SMTP password: Your Gmail password
- Gmail SMTP port (TLS): 587
- Gmail SMTP port (SSL): 465
- Gmail SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes
Let me know how it goes!

Hi Jay,
Thanks for your response.
Yes, firmware and manual IP and configuration have been taken care of when we had a Scanning issue with the printer. The printer has been replaced on our 3rd day.
HP Support guided us through the firmware and manual IP configuration last week, where we have multiple issues with the printer such as Offline status.
Outgoing SMTP has been set/configured accordingly but it failed too.
Any further guide? Thanks.
