Hello dear community,
I can't find a way to send a scan directly by email on my printer. Unfortunately, there is no setting for this in the printer settings and the Internet isn't helping me either. How can I activate this on the printer? A shortcut isn't a solution either, as the program would otherwise have to run constantly in the background.

Hi @kevjoanow98
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
To send a scan directly by email from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8022e, you typically need to use the HP Smart app or set up the printer to use an email service. Here’s how you can set this up:
Use HP Smart App:
- Install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Connect your printer to the app, and you can use it to scan documents. After scanning, you can easily send them via email directly from the app.
Scan to Email Feature:
- If your printer is connected to the internet and you have an HP account, the OfficeJet Pro 8022e should support the scan-to-email feature.
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Scan and look for options like Email or Scan to Email. If you don’t see it, you may need to enable this feature through the HP Smart app or your HP account.
Set Up Scan to Email:
- In the HP Smart app, go to the printer settings and look for Scan settings. You may be prompted to configure email settings, which usually involves entering your email account information and SMTP server details.
- Follow the prompts to complete the setup. Once configured, you should be able to send scans directly via email from the printer.
Web Services:
- Make sure Web Services is enabled on your printer. You can usually find this in the printer settings under Web Services or Cloud Services. This allows your printer to use cloud features, including sending scans by email.
Firmware Updates:
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Check the HP support website or the HP Smart app for any available updates that might enable or improve scan-to-email functionality.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
