Hi , getting the following error with Scan to Email functionality. In outgoing email profile setup I'm getting: "Username or password is incorrect. Ensure both user account and password are valid." Couldn't figure it out for my Hotmail account, and I tried my wife's **bleep** account and got the same error!?!? This is super frustrating. Also frustrating to try and get a response/solutions from HP!
Thanks for any advice.

to scan to network folder, that is only if you are going to send the document to another computer, or a computer that has properties to share with other computers.
Scan to a USB, you should scan in such a way that you get the image in a folder, then open your email program and send the image as an attachment.

Hi @SteMia
Microsoft changed the Basics authentication system to Modern, this requires a very different configuration which your printer does not support.
I recommend scanning to a folder and then attaching the created file to the Hotmail mailing.

Thanks for the info. I tried setting up a folder to scan to but now, however, I'm getting the following error and I'm not sure where to go with this?
"Cannot find the remote server. Check server name or use IP Address to connect. Check that the remote computer is turned on."
Any ideas? Thanks!

if you scan the document directly into your computer and save it in a folder, this cannot be done?

The only options my printer/scanner gives is:
"Scan to USB Drive"
"Scan to Network Folder"
"Scan to Email"
"Address Book"
I'm obviously having issue with the Scan to Email function, due to Microsofts new Security standards. So I tried to setup the Scan to Network Folder function and now I'm getting this error? Cannot find the remote server. Check server name or use IP Address to connect. Check that the remote computer is turned on.

Ok, I assumed that it would be able to save the scanned file(s) to my laptop via a connected shared folder.
So, the USB I physically plugged it into my printer/scanner and was able to save the files that way.
Thanks for your help. Its a bigger pain in the butt for the workaround but glad I at least have that option.

You're welcome, happy to help, another recommendation is to open Google account, and configure the Google account to forward the emails to Hotmail.
This is another solution that I think you will like.

I have a Google Account tied to my hotmail email, but I don't have Google email. Is that necessary to be able to forward scanned emails to my hotmail account?
I tried using my wife's **bleep** account previously to be able to Scan to Email functionality but also had no luck doing that? Same Username and Password errors and with Hotmail.
