Scan to Folder - Incorrect credentials. Check your username/password and try again. I can't seem to get around this error. Any help would be appreciated.

Check username / password - Credential failure

Not sure, though there are inherently more issues scanning to a remote destination than there might be when scanning to your computer on the same network, using your own account (Microsoft login), and destination folder set to "Shared".

Credential tripwires - not all inclusive...

The most common error is that of permissions -- the destination folder must be "Shared", that is, open to read and write by "all".

Scanning to your own Windows account's Shared folder uses the standard Windows permissions for Shared folder.  If you are trying to scan to another's user's account (on the same computer), the permissions might include you as having read and write access to the other user's account (individual destination folder is still set to Shared, of course).

Scanning to a remote File System - Scan to Network Folder - for example, a NAS requires that the destination account and folder in that account be mapped and accessible to you as a user coming in from the "outside" of the NAS filesystem.  The destination folder should (generally) be added to Group "Everyone" on the NAS to assure read / write access.  What?  It might not be enough that you have username / password to the account on the NAS - the destination folder must be open / accessible.

Scanning to a Cloud account requires that the path to the Cloud / OneDrive be added to the Scan to Network Profile.  The Cloud account must be signed-in on the computer.  This generally precludes scanning to OneDrive (for example) without having logged into the account using your Microsoft account (as opposed to a local account).  True, you can sign into a local Windows account and then sign into your OneDrive account -- that does not mean other apps will see that connection.

Finally, if Windows cannot discern the host name, use the computer's IP address when setting up Scan to Network Folder in EWS.

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Scan to Network Folder > Network Folder Setup

Example - EWS and host system - Scan to Network Folder

EWS_9025_Scan-to-Network-Folder_13EWS_9025_Scan-to-Network-Folder_13

What else?

HP Smart - Shortcuts - can save output to Cloud Storage, including scanned content.

The Cloud account must be signed in before the scan task is started.
