I am continually having issues with trying to get the scan feature on my new printer to work in any capacity except scan from web browser.

Specifically the Scan to Network Folder is what I am trying to set up and I have gotten one error after another. I finally have is narrowed down to the latest error "Network error. Check the printer's network connection and try again." My folder settings are correct, I am not using login authentication as it was not liking that either but I figured out how to disable it, and now it is saying my connection isn't working. I can print with no problem and I can scan to a web browser. I am using wireless connection for this so is that the problem? Can I only Scan to Network Folder via wired connection? I am at a loss.

Additionally, I have tried scanning to an email and that is also not working because it cannot authenticate my server even though I know my login information is correct.

Please help...

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

can to Network Folder Error:

Check Wi-Fi: Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You can test this by pinging the printer from your computer (type ping <printer IP> in Command Prompt).

Check Folder Permissions: Ensure the folder you want to scan to has the right permissions (it should be shared with write access for everyone).

Test Access: On your computer, try to open the folder (e.g., \\computer_name\folder_name). If it opens, then the folder is set up correctly.

Folder Path: Make sure the network folder path is entered correctly (e.g., \\computer_name\folder_name).

2. Scan to Email Authentication Issue:

Check Email Settings: Make sure your email settings (SMTP server, port, and security type) are correct.

3. Wi-Fi vs. Wired Connection:

Try Wired: If the wireless connection isn’t stable, try connecting the printer directly to the router using an Ethernet cable for more reliable performance.
