I've been trying to setup Scan to Network Folder profile and keep getting the same issue.  The network path looks good I've allowed read/write permissions on the folder I wish the files to go to. then under authentications I put the username and correct windows password then enter the four digit pin I wish to use. When I go to scan it says its not able to verify my credentials. I go back into the setup page and the program has changed the password and pin to something else. I've also tried no credentials but it does the same exact thing.  I'm using the HP Smart app is there a better way to do this? or am I just messing something up?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

● An active network connection. You must be connected to the network.

● An existing Windows (SMB) shared folder For information about finding the computer name, see the documentation for your operating system.

● The network address for the folder On computer running Windows, network addresses are usually written in this format: \\mypc \sharedfolder

● The name of the computer where the folder is located For information about finding the computer name, see the documentation for your operating system.

● Appropriate privileges on the shared folder You must have write access to the folder.

● A username and password for the shared folder (if necessary)

To set up Scan to Network Folder from embedded web server (EWS)

  • 1. Open the embedded web server (EWS). For more information, see Open the embedded web server.
  • 2. On the Home tab, click Scan to Network Folder.
  • 3. Click , and then follow the onscreen instructions.
NOTE: You can customize the scan settings for each destination folder.
  • 4. After you have entered the required information about the network folder, click Save and Test to make sure the link to the network folder is working correctly. The entry is added to the Network Folder Profiles table.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
