I setup my LaserJet printer to scan to my MacBook Pro MacOS 11 Scans folder using \\193.167.1.4\Scans as my network path to the Scans folder. It works great, but I have noticed that the IP address of my MacBook Pro changes at times. How do I avoid having to change the settings with HP Smart each time? Can I use the name of the computer in the path instead? I have tried multiple names but nothing worked. The name is Carl's MacBook. I have tried taking the ' and space out of the name, but no success. What is the best approach? I don't really care what the name of the computer is, if it works all the time. Thanks in advance.

You need to either set a static address on your Mac or set an address reservation on your router so that your Mac gets the same address everytime you connect.
