Hello

Whenever we scan something to a PDF, the scan gets really blurry with changing colors within the same text (examples below).

We scan the document to a network folder.

There is no problem with scanning as *.tiff. It's also possible to convert the scanned *.tiff to a PDF with a freeware tool and it looks way better.

I guess the printer scans the document as a image and converts it to *.PDF?

We own several copies of this printer (M578) and it's the same on every printer.

What we tried:

- Different image adjustments on the web interface (Sharpness, Contrast, Background Cleanup), but it just gets worse

- Different optimizations on the web interface (text, graphics, photos), doesn't fix it either

- Tried different M578 printers

- Reinstalled drivers multiple times (although this shouldn't have an effect anyway since we perform the task on the printer touch screen)

Here are some examples of *.PDF and *.TIFF files with circles marking the color changes.

PDF (300 dpi) has color changes:

TIFF (300 dpi) looking fine:

TIFF (200 dpi) looking fine:

TIFF (200 dpi or lower) converted to PDF, looking fine:

If you need a closer print screen of one of the examples, I'll be happy to provide one.

Did anyone face similar issues?

I found the solution. We really wanted to use 300 dpi with high compression. Unfortunately this produces the artifacts mentioned.
