I.ve read about setting up a shared network folder in Windows and select it via Scan in EWS, but i only have the webscan option there which doesn't make scan to computer work. Thanks!

Gerard

Welcome to the HP Community --
True - This model does not list the Digital Send feature Scan to Network Folder.

HP Printers - How to Scan (Windows, Mac, Mobile) | HP® Customer Support
Details / Example
I believe the following should work for your printer and a supported version of Windows.
If you have a Windows PC running a supported version of Windows,
Install the full driver printer software - Download, Save, Install, Restart computer and log in
Open Web Pack Installation - Web Page
HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only
The software, once installed, will have added one of two "container" shortcuts on the Desktop:
- Printer Assistant - named for the printer model
OR
- Scan Assistant - named for itself
Open your container shortcut -
Wait for the menu to open -- startup can take about ten seconds, seems longer...
NOTE >> If using the Printer Assistant, select Tab Print, Scan, & Fax > Scan
Next,
Select Manage Scan to Computer
Wait for the menu to open -- startup might take about ten seconds, seems longer...
Enable the Manage Scan to Computer feature
Optional - Check the Box to start the feature automatically when Windows starts.
NOTE >> The "Automatic" start feature generally works -- when it does not do so, you might be plagued with constant messages saying that the Manage Scan to Computer feature is disabled or not started... If you can stand it, leave the "Automatic" startup switched OFF and start the feature when you want to use it.
Finished -
Once enabled, the feature adds your computer's name to the printer's control panel menu

YES! That did the trick. Thank you so much.
A few things differed, but I guess that comes with the model. The package also installed HP Smart, and now I have 2 computers in the printers scan display. One works, the other doesn't. I guess one is coming from Smart {not working) and the other from your package (working). Do you know if there's a way to remove the not working entry?
Thanks again and kind regards,
Gerard

You are welcome.
I wish I had access to more of the printer models -- Love to have a lab full of them, in fact.
Smiling.
What could it be?
HP Smart - at this writing and in my experience - does not add a Shortcut icon to the Desktop.
A Desktop Shortcut for HP Smart can be added, it's just not default response to installing the HP Smart application.
So -- What was added?
More importantly,
What was added that does not work?
If I were to guess, I'd say that one of the elements installed as part of the full driver printer software ended up on the Desktop in spite of the fact that the actual device behind the Desktop shortcut is not an application or software that can be executed. ? Should not happen, of course.
What does the "not working" shortcut look like?
For example,
Is the shortcut a tiny "printer" or something else?
Does the "not working" shortcut look like any of the Desktop icons I included in my example?
Can you Right-Click on the Shortcut?
If yes, what do the Properties say about the shortcut's identity?
Printer_Assistant_Scan_Assistant_Shortcut_Icons_on_Desktop_11
What else?
If the Shortcut looks like a Ghost Printer, that is, the Shortcut icon on the Desktop is all white, then this might be the HP Smart Printing Queue. If so, it's a clever bit of software -- you might find it useful.
Smart Printing helps prevent conflicts by only allowing compatible settings to be selected together.
HP Smart Printing also understands the concept of Presets (custom shortcuts) -- a boon for HP Smart that lacks that feature.
HP Smart Printing understands custom paper size and Watermarks.
For those reading:
HP Smart Printing and HP Universal Print are functionally very similar.
Example - HP Smart - HP Smart Printing - Simple Photo Print - 4x6 inch Borderless
HP_Smart_Win_Smart_Printing_Photo_4x6_Borderless_6
====================================================
Where are "things on the Desktop" located?
Desktop is a folder --
Like other folders, you can either "Right-Click" on an item you can see on the Desktop to manage or delete it
OR
Open Windows Explorer
Navigate to your Account
List the folders --
You can open "Desktop" like you would any other folder, for example your "Pictures" folder.
In the Desktop folder, you can manage and / or delete items.
====================================================
Where are Apps / Software?
Be careful with these -- you can end up removing the software you just installed.
Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
Select Printer from list to open that printer ---
Scroll down
Select More devices and printers settings
Windows 10 -
Settings > Apps > Apps and Features
Windows 11 -
Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
Windows 10
Windows key > Search for and open Control Panel
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers
Windows 11
Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
Check the list of devices – Select / Open Printer
Check / Remove - Printer Drivers – Lurking in Devices and Printers
Windows 11
Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Print server Properties > Tab Drivers
Select each unwanted entry > Remove > OK to exit menu
Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners > Select / Open Printer > Remove
Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices
Scroll down > Look for and remove unwanted / non-working printer

It's not a shortcut on the computer, but the printers display. I tick Scan, then I get a list of 3 entries:
1. [MyDesktopName]
2. Scan to [MyDesktopName]
3. Computer is not listed
Now 1 is new and works since installing your package and 2 is the one that kept showing up with only HP Smart installed before your help. That's why I figure it's coming from HP Smart, since that's automatically installed too.
Thanks again!
Gerard

Ah, OK - makes sense.
Well, I don't know.
I don't think the odd entry is anything to do with HP Smart -- Smart Shortcuts are a different animal - Even had you configured any of the HP Smart Shortcuts, I don't think they'd show up with the Scan to Computer list. ?
A generic Example -
The Printer list sample includes an "odd bird" entry -- a device that might not normally be listed in the Printers list.
When the Properties for the entry are opened, it is apparent this is a different type of entry.
The "No driver" designation means the "printer" cannot be used to configure and start jobs.
Must the entry be removed? Not necessarily, though it cannot be tagged as a "Printer" in job setup (apps / software job submission configuration).
Settings_Bluetooth_and_Devices_Printers_and_Scanners_Printers_1
Perhaps read Gerard's post (just before this one) -- Can you guess the mystery #3 entry in the Printer's Scan to Computer list? Is the entry significant -- necessary / how to remove? Thanks for any insight.

Hi @Dragon-Fur
Already check the entry #3 in the Printer Scan to Computer list from @twixyz - Gerard.
Well, I am not sure whether this is a feature or a bug in the printer software 🤔.
Let me tell you that I have an Officejet printer with Scan options and when I select Scan to Computer, have the same entry "Computer is not listed" and when I click on that shows me some instructions to Setup a new scan to computer.
Maybe because the small screen on Printer they cannot display a full message option like "How to setup a new scan to computer" and they instead simply choose the text "Computer is not listed".
Probably this could be an improvement for the HP Printer software/firmware programmers to change that text or simply remove it to avoid any confusion to users. 😇
Just my two cents,
ferRX.
