Scan to computer pdf

My 8620 gave up the ghost, so I purchased a new 9015e

On the 8620 I used the Scan To Computer function nearly every day.  On the screen on the printer it would give me various options, one of which was Scan to PDF.

The new 9015e does not give me any such option, and as such, it always scans as a jpeg.

The other major problem when I Scan To Computer from the screen on the printer, is that it always scans from the glass, even if the feeder is loaded.

I didn't have any of these issues with the old 8620.

Well, they are apple and orange, we can't compare. Please use  HP Scan Extended

                    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed,

   (a) Hit Win key,
   (b) Scroll down to HP group/folder,
   (c) Double click "HP Scan Extended"

You can put its icon on Taskbar if you wish.

I followed the directions.  When I run HP Scan Extended I just get a message that says "The HP Imaging Device was not found".
